On 20.03.2014 was carried the first part of the annually organized forum “Legal Day” of German-Bulgarian Industrial Commercial Chamber. Representatives of the leading legal companies in Bulgaria and industry representatives also took part in the event.

Our Law office was represented by Angel Buzalov – associated partner and leader of our employment team, who introduced our researches on the necessity of new legislation in the public relations related to the recipient of workforce.

“The excessive protection of dismissal in our country is a factor determining the high level of the stable and youth unemployment and poor investment climate”, summarized Angel Buzalov from “Popov & Partners”. In his presentation the expert pointed that the administrative burdens appearing before every employer, including in terms of the rules for discharge of workers and employees, are unusually restrictive and conservative in comparison with other Euro-Atlantic countries. Moreover, the presentation contained comparative legal analysis of the options for termination of the labour relationships in Bulgaria and in other European countries.

According to the labour law specialist, this factor has been unnaturally slowing down the real cycle of the labour market and presupposed high values of the youth unemployment, of the stable unemployed and also of the overall levels of the unemployment. Practically, the effective labour legislation is establishing strong counter motive against the investments, disclosure of new work places, the increase of the qualification and in addition it is decreasing the competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy.
