As of December 23 2021, significant changes to the Administrative Violations and Sanctions Act come into force. Hristo Koparanov discusses before Capital the new opportunity for the persons who have committed an administrative violation to agree with the authorities and thus to reduce the amount of their sanctions, and the administration to prevent the risk of revocation of its acts on formal grounds. Attention has been paid to how this can happen before or after a sanction is imposed by the authorities. The article also discusses the new rules for appealing against acts and terminating administrative penal proceedings, as well as the introduced new administrative penalty – unpaid labor in favor of the society.
